Bilateral meeting between Serbian, Slovenian ministries of defence

Representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, led by Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić, have visited the Republic of Slovenia to hold a bilateral meeting on defence with the Ministry of Defence of Slovenia.
On behalf of the Slovenian Ministry of Defence, Director-General of the Defence Policy Directorate Rolando Žel met with the Serbian MoD delegation.
The meeting analysed the political and security situation in the region and the world, the results achieved so far and future directions in the development of defence cooperation.

Assistant Minister Bandić conveyed the commitment of the Serbian Ministry of Defence to enhancing the quality and scope of defence cooperation with Slovenia, for the benefit of both parties.

Among other topics discussed at the meeting was the participation of members of the Slovenian Armed Forces in Exercise Platinum Wolf 2025 and the Balkan Medical Task Force.

Žel agreed that it was necessary to strengthen defence cooperation at the bilateral level, particularly in the domain of military archives and museums, as well as regional forms of cooperation aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and the overall stability in the Western Balkans.
The two delegations came to a mutual conclusion that the cooperation on defence was good, both at the bilateral level and in regional formats, and formulated proposals on how to improve it in 2025.
