Expert staff talks with Allied Joint Force Command Naples delegation



A NATO delegation headed by Rear Admiral Thorsten Marx, Assistant Chief of Staff (ACOS J-9) Allied Joint Force Command Naples, is visiting the Republic of Serbia to carry out Expert Staff Talks with the representatives of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Defence Policy Sector.
The NATO delegation was received by Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy, Mr. Predrag Bandić, who underlined the significance of comprehensive relations through Partnership for Peace Programme, and the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR. He reminded that Serbia was a militarily neutral country, committed to regional and global security, and that its participation in activities through various mechanisms of cooperation continuously improves the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.

During the meeting, Head of the International Military Cooperation Department, Colonel Zlatko Bogosavljević, highlighted the importance of cooperation with Allied Joint Force Command Naples. He also underscored that the execution of high-level planned activities in the previous period was based on realistic foundations, and in line with the needs and defence interests of the Republic of Serbia.
Rear Admiral Thorsten Marx agreed that cooperation between both sides under the Partnership for Peace framework is very successful, stressing that NATO fully respects Serbian military neutrality, and thanking them for the effort on enhancing cooperation with the Alliance. The talks were also attended by the Chief of NATO Military Liaison Office Belgrade, Brigadier General Pierluigi Lodola.

The Expert Staff Talks between the representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and Allied Joint Force Command Naples are a regular annual activity, during which the degree of achieved cooperation in the current year is analysed, and plans of cooperation for the following year are reviewed. The location of the activity alternates between Belgrade and Naples.
