Military service volunteers undergo skills evaluation

The soldiers whose voluntary military service started in early December last year have been evaluated for basic individual skills at the Serbian Armed Forces training centres in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac.

The evaluation follows the initial phase of the first training period, during which the new recruits underwent basic individual tactical training, were taught how to handle personal weapons and perform internal service duties, did their first firing practices and achieved the required physical fitness standards.

During the skills evaluation, the soldiers solved tactical problems, which required the application of the knowledge and skills they had acquired during their one-and-a-half-month training at the Training Command centres. The results show that they have fully mastered all the skills they were taught during the training, which testifies to fact that the training was well planned and successfully conducted.

Soldiers will next be sent to specialized training centres to learn how to use their branch/service-specific combat weapons and military equipment in preparation for the final training phase — collective training in the Serbian Armed Forces units.

The soldiers who would like to apply for professional military service can do so even at this stage, so that they can go through the necessary procedure in time and become eligible to join the Serbian Armed Forces as professional members immediately upon completion of military service.
