New intake of junior soldiers in training
Basic training for soldiers who started doing their voluntary military service in early December last year is underway in the Serbian Armed Forces training centres in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac.
It is the first training phase, lasting a month and a half, which is identical for soldiers of all specialties. During this phase, the soldiers are being trained in the use of personal weapons, the conduct of tactical offensive and defensive tasks, and the execution of internal service duties.
Special focus is placed on tactical and firearms training at the Serbian Armed Forces ranges where the soldiers are acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to carry out basic defensive and offensive tasks in combat and adapting to living and working in the field.
What awaits them next is an assessment of their ability to perform individual tasks, followed by a transfer to specialist training centres, where they will be trained in the use of combat and branch/service-specific equipment.
Despite the fact that they have only been in the military for a few weeks, the young soldiers display strong commitment and motivation to master all the activities included in the training program. Many of them have already expressed their desire to become professional soldiers of the Serbian Armed Forces, for which they can apply while still performing their military service.
