Minister Gašić visits SAF members in Ground Safety Zone on second day of Christmas
On the second day of Christmas, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited members of the Serbian Armed Forces in the Merdare Base, the Ground Safety Zone.
During the visit, Minister Gašić assessed that the SAF members’ professionalism and sense of responsibility were at a high level, as well as their commitment to preserving the safety of our citizens even during the holiday.
- I am honoured to have the opportunity to spend this day with the members of the Serbian Armed Forces who, even on this most joyful Christian holiday, are serving their homeland and ensuring peace and tranquillity for all our citizens - said the Minister of Defence, wishing the Army members stationed at the Merdare Base a happy holiday with the traditional greeting "Peace of God, Christ is born".
He said that “the military profession brings great responsibility, but also honour and pride bequeathed to us by our ancestors”.
- With your work results, perseverance and commitment to the military profession, you have deservedly earned the trust of the citizens of our country. Thank you for performing your tasks in the Ground Safety Zone responsibly and successfully. I am confident that you will continue to do so in the future - said Minister Gašić.
The base commander, Lieutenant Sava Stanković-Bogatinović, briefed Minister Gašić on the assigned tasks in his AOR and the organization of life and work in the base.
Minister Gašić was accompanied on his visit today by the Army Commander, Lt. Gen. Milosav Simović, the Head of the Operations Department, General Staff, Maj. Gen. Gordan Pavlović, and the Third Army Brigade Commander, Colonel Vladan Milosavljević.
