Minister Gašić has Christmas lunch with SAF member’s family of seven
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić hosted a Christmas lunch today at the Ministry of Defence for a member of the Serbian Armed Forces, Sergeant Major Dejan Petrović, and his family of seven.
Minister Gašić wished the Petrović family a merry Christmas and said that children and youth were our country’s greatest wealth.
- Today, as we celebrate the most joyous Christian holiday – Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, and the love for our neighbours, my heart fills with happiness to see such a large family, with love radiating from parents and children, brothers and sisters. The family is the pillar of a strong society and a strong state. Therefore, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will continue taking care of all its members, working to improve their living standards and create even better living and working conditions for them - emphasized Minister Gašić.
The Minister of Defence wished all members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces a merry Christmas, wishing them good health, happiness, peace and prosperity. He sent best wishes to our personnel who, even during the holidays, are carrying out their tasks, safeguarding the peace and security of all citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
Sergeant Major Petrović serves as an assistant military chaplain with the Religious Affairs Group of the Army Command in Niš, while his wife Milijana works for a unit of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Department, General Staff. Their daughter Andrea is the youngest of the five children, followed by son Ognjen, daughter Elena, son Andrej, and the eldest son, Veljko, who is a fourth-year cadet at the Military Academy.
Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Infrastructure and Hospitality Services Boriša Roljić and the Head of the Military Health Department, Brigadier General Dragan Dinčić, also attended the Christmas lunch.
