Meeting with UK Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to Western Balkans
The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today with the UK Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
In the meeting at the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, they discussed the challenges, risks and threats to regional and global security and the situation in Kosovo and Metohija. The meeting was also attended by the UK Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Edward Ferguson.
General Mojsilović pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces were open to cooperation with all partners, while respecting the policy of military neutrality of the Republic of Serbia, and assessed that joint military activities, particularly those related to education, training and exercises, contributed to building the operational capabilities of armed forces, as well as mutual trust and overall relations between states.
As he stressed, the Serbian Armed Forces, as a credible and reliable partner, consistently adhere to the Military Technical Agreement and, in accordance with Resolution 1244 and all signed agreements, the Republic of Serbia considers the international security presence in Kosovo and Metohija as the only guarantor of security of Serbian population in our southern province.
