Flight training on SAF’s new transport aircraft
Members of the 138th Transport Squadron are conducting regular flight training on new CASA C-295 aircraft at the military airfield Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović in Batajnica and in the greater Belgrade area.
The training aims to maintain the crew members’ skills in performing the unit’s tasks, such as airlifting personnel and cargo, as well as aeromedical transportation.
The aircraft technicians of this 204th Air Brigade unit are actively involved in the training, since they play a crucial role in making sure that aircraft are operational and airworthy.
In accordance with the training programme, flight tasks are being performed in favourable and complex weather conditions, during the day and at night. Previously, test pilot training was successfully conducted, so, in addition to the crews responsible for carrying out unit-specific tasks, the unit now has fully trained test flight crews.
Modern CASA C-295 aircraft are used for airlifting personnel and cargo, VIP air transportation and aeromedical transportation. Their introduction into operational use in the Serbian Armed Forces has significantly improved the ability of our air force to transport and deploy units and movable assets to the mission area.
