Military veterans’ indoor soccer exhibition match played
As part of the celebration of Military Veterans Day, an indoor soccer exhibition match has been played today between teams of military veterans - active and retired members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, at the ‘Voždovac’ Sports Center in Banjica.
This is the first military veterans’ exhibition match held on the eve of this holiday. The match, organised by the Ministry of Defence Human Resources Sector Department for Tradition, Standards and Veterans, was attended by numerous members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, members of veterans’ associations, families, friends and relatives of the participants in the match.
The teams of veterans, participants in combat operations, had 13 players each, and the match was refereed by members of the Belgrade Football Association.
At the end of the sports meeting, which was finished in favour of active duty service members, the Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Human Resources Siniša Radović presented diplomas to the participants and certificates of appreciation to the sponsors of today's event.
