New issue of Odbrana
In the December issue of the Odbrana magazine, after reviewing the most important activities in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in November, readers will have the opportunity to read about the process of equipping with new assets in the column STANDING POINT on the occasion of the Air Force and Air Defence Day, as well as the dynamics of the replenishment of resources, overhaul and modernisation of key assets, taking into account the number and variety of significant tasks that this service branch of the Serbian Armed Forces performs.
We begin the column SYSTEM with a story about the 41st Infantry Battalion, which sees and performs its basic mission within the framework of the control of the Ground Security Zone. We continue the column with a story about the Military Technical Institute, which marks 76 years of existence next month, as well as a report from the Transportation Training Battalion, located at the ‘Ribnica’ Barracks in Kraljevo, which uses the ‘Beranovac’ training ground to produce reliable and high-quality drivers of military motor vehicles. We complete this column with the text entitled ‘Ready for Challenges’ that brings the story of the first days of cadets at the Military Academy.
In the HEALTHCARE column, we learn about acupuncture treatment at the Military Medical Academy, which, through a specific treatment method, represents a special philosophy of life. With the text ‘Prevention as the best medicine’, we pay tribute to the Centre for Preventive Medical Care, which, on a daily basis, continuously, throughout the calendar year, through the work of its employees, creates all the important and necessary prerequisites for the health care of members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
With the article ‘Pride of an Era’ in the TRADITION column, we remind you of the significance of the upcoming 22nd December that was used to mark the Day of the Yugoslav People’s Army in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and was accompanied by the award of the same name, which was awarded to deserving scientists.
Traditionally, in the ARSENAL column, from the pen of a regular contributor to the editorial staff of the ‘Odbrana’ magazine, we bring you an article about the famous Thompson submashine gun that was used for almost the entire 20th century, but we also publish an article about the history of fighter aircraft in the Serbian and Yugoslav Air Force.
We are completing the December issue of Odbrana magazine with a story about another city – a hero and its suffering, Surdulica, that was the target of unscrupulous and cruel occupiers in the previous century.
