Minister Gašić: Svecla sets the stage for violence against Serbs
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić stated that open acts of terror are being carried out against the Serb population in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, which are directed by Albin Kurti and his henchman Xhelal Svecla. He strongly denied the allegations of the minister in the government of the so-called Kosovo that the seized explosives originated from the depots of the Serbian Armed Forces and underlined that there was absolutely no involvement of our country in the events that are causing Pristina to carry out its illegal repressive actions.
- The stage set by the so-called minister of the self-proclaimed state serves exclusively to find, at any cost, some reason for violence against Serbs in the north of Kosovo and Metohija. Time is running out for Kurti and Svecla. Both domestically and internationally. The whole world is aware that they are mere liars and that they are only building a campaign and endangering the lives of citizens in Kosovo and Metohija through the political violence. Knowing this, they are desperately looking for an excuse to accelerate the process of ethnic cleansing in the north of the province - Minister Gašić said.
He stressed that the current leaders of the provisional self-government bodies in Priština can be expected to continue with provocations in order to criminalize the Serb population and justify the acts of terror against innocent citizens.
- They are aware that in the forthcoming period there will be a change in the attitude towards their criminal activities by certain world centres of power that currently tolerate all of this - Gašić assessed.
He strongly condemned the campaign of repression currently being carried out by the so-called Kosovo police special forces and called on the international community to condemn such actions and make Kurti to stop persecuting the Serbian population.
- Serbia is acting responsibly and with restraint despite the constant provocations of Pristina. We believe that the only way to establish lasting peace in Kosovo and Metohija is to respect international agreements and respect the interests of the Serb people who have lived in our southern province for centuries. In contrast, Kurti and Svecla are continuing the activities of their terrorist KLA predecessors, who are thirsty for blood of innocent citizens. They should know that we are watching what they are doing and that we are ready to act decisively to protect our people - Gašić emphasized.
