Specialist training in military police units

The military police battalions are conducting intensive training of individuals and units for performing military police and general security tasks in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.

At this stage, at the training grounds and shooting ranges of the Serbian Armed Forces, in accordance with the training programme, members of military police units carry out preparatory shooting and practice tactics, techniques and procedures for performing specific military police tasks according to specially developed scenarios.

A platoon leader in one of the military police units explains that the focus is on the training of newly recruited professional soldiers and non-commissioned officers, who are now being trained to respond quickly and effectively in various security-threatening situations, primarily in executing the tasks of territory control.

- During the training, we use modern domestically produced equipment, which contributes to the even more successful implementation of military police tasks - the leader emphasized and added that, in addition to ballistic equipment, the unit is also equipped with modern sniper rifles and modern domestically produced combat vehicles..

The military policeman, who took up his duty in the unit three months ago, explained that he joined the unit after voluntarily serving his military service.

- I was attracted to the military police by the specificity and method of conducting the training, and especially its elements of counter-terrorism training, which are expressed in this unit. In addition to tactical and fire training, I would also highlight, as one of the more important contents, the military police patrol and preparatory shooting with the 5.56 mm M21 automatic rifle and the 9 mm CZ99 semi-automatic pistol - the military policeman on training said.

The MP units are equipped with modern assets and weapons of domestic and foreign production, which, along with constant training, ensures the required ability to fulfill efficiently the given duties and assignments stipulated by law, other regulations and commanders’ orders in all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces.
