The Ministry of Defence strongly condemns the attempt of some media outlets to link the Serbian Armed Forces with daily political topics by spreading fake news.
A Serbian Armed Forces truck, while performing its regular task, moving along King Alexander Boulevard in Belgrade, encountered a group of gathered citizens and was allowed to pass without incident by the citizens present there.
А tendentious and malicious reporting on this event represents an attempt to damage the reputation of the Serbian Armed Forces and places the military organisation in a context incompatible with its constitutional and legal role.
Such way of reporting represents a gross violation of all journalistic codes of ethics, abuse of media freedoms and misleading the public with inaccurate information and malicious interpretations.
Once again, we call on the media outlets to refrain from publishing malicious, sensationalist and untrue information about the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, having the sole aim of undermining trust in the institution that enjoys the greatest trust of the citizens of our country.
