98th Aviation Brigade Day
Members of the 98th Aviation Brigade celebrate the Day of this unit to commemorate 28th November 1949 when the 98th Fighter-Bomber Aviation Regiment was formed whose traditions this unit of the Serbian Armed Forces continues.
As part of the ceremony at the Morava airfield near Kraljevo, a parade of brigade members and a static display of aviation assets were held, key achievements in building operational capabilities were presented, awards were presented to the most prominent individuals and wreaths were laid at the memorial at the airport. The documentary film “History of the 98th Aviation Brigade” was also premiered.
In reviewing the results achieved in the past year, further progress in equipping and modernising combat assets was highlighted, as well as the professionalism and high level of qualification of brigade members verified in the implementation of all assigned tasks, thereby fully contributing to strengthening the operational capabilities of the Air Force and Air Defence.
The ceremony was attended by the Air Force and Air Defence Commander Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, representatives from Serbian Armed Forces units, local government bodies, the Serbian Orthodox Church and institutions with which the brigade cooperates, and numerous other guests.
