The Ministry of Defence fiercely condemns the unauthorized crossing of the administrative line between Central Serbia and the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija by a group of heavily armed members of the so-called Kosovo Police near the village of Ćirkoviće.
This is another conscious and planned attempt by the Provisional Priština institutions headed by Albin Kurti to provoke an incident and violate an agreement.
The Ministry of Defence demands that KFOR, as the sole legal and legitimate military force on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, take the necessary measures in accordance with its mandate and prevent the provisional Priština institutions’ attempts to cause an escalation in violence in our southern province.
Albin Kurti’s order for members of the so-called Kosovo Police to cross the administrative line is a dangerous provocation and a threat to peace. The units of the Serbian Armed Forces in the Ground Safety Zone are monitoring the situation on the ground and are ready to react in line with the provisions of the Military Technical Agreement.
