SAF units celebrate their anniversaries
The Central Logistics Base Day, the Army Training Centre Day, the Banat Brigade Day and the Peacekeeping Operations Centre Day were marked today in the Serbian Armed Forces.
To mark their anniversaries, the aforementioned units held military ceremonies, where work results achieved in the past period were summarized and awards and commendations were presented to the most deserving individuals.
The Central Logistics Base Day was celebrated in the Belgrade-based command of the SAF’s largest logistics unit, in memory of November 16, 1992, when the 608th Rear Base was formed.
Today, members of the Army Training Centre celebrated their anniversary at General Pavle Jurišić Šturm Barracks in Požarevac, commemorating November 16, 1918 when the Battle of Kolubara, one of the greatest victories of the Serbian army, began.
Members of the Banat Brigade marked their anniversary at the National Hero Svetozar Marković Toza Barracks in Zrenjanin, commemorating November 17, 1918, when the victorious Serbian army entered the then Veliki Bečkerek.
The Peacekeeping Operations Centre Day, commemorating November 17, 1956, when the advance party of the Yugoslav People's Army Detachment was deployed to the United Nations Emergency Force in Sinai, was celebrated at Banjica Barracks in Belgrade.
