Military holidays celebrated
Military ceremonies were held today in Novi Sad and Sombor barracks to mark the First Army Brigade Day and the First Training Centre Day.
Members of the First Army Brigade held their celebration in Jugovićevo Barracks in Novi Sad, commemorating November 9, 1918, when the Serbian army liberated Novi Sad.
In front of the brigade members standing in formation at the ceremony, awards were presented to the best individuals and subordinate units, and key achievements in building operational and functional capabilities were highlighted.
The summary of past year’s results highlighted that the First Army Brigade had successfully carried out its tasks in all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces and significantly increased its capabilities and combat readiness.
At Aerodrom Barracks in Sombor, the First Training Centre held a ceremony commemorating November 13, 2006, when the Centre was formed and when, in 1918, a detachment of the Army of the Kingdom of Serbia entered Sombor.
During the ceremony, awards were presented to the best individuals and it was pointed out that, in the previous year, the Centre had successfully conducted the training of soldiers, cadets, students and reserve personnel, thus contributing to the enhancement of SAF personnel’s skills.
