Minister Gašić presents promotion and appointment decrees
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić presented today decrees issued by the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, promoting and appointing SAF officers to new duties. The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.
Major General Tiosav Janković has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general and appointed as Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, while Brigadier General Gordan Pavlović has been promoted to major general and appointed as Head of the Operations Department (J-3), Serbian Armed Forces General Staff. Colonels Slađan Hristov, Željko Furundžić, Nebojša Cvetković and Žarko Nešić have been promoted to brigadier generals, and Colonel Grujica Vuković has been appointed as Chief of Staff of the Army Command.
Congratulating the newly promoted and appointed officers, Minister Gašić thanked them for everything they had accomplished through hard work and commitment and wished them much success in their future military careers. He expressed his belief that the officers, with their self-sacrifice and dedication, would continue to set a good example to their younger colleagues and that they would continue to achieve excellent results for the benefit of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Lieutenant General Tiosav Janković was born on September 29, 1974 in Užice. His professional military career started in 1997. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1997, completed the Command and Staff Course in 2008, the General Staff Course in 2013 and the Advanced Security and Defence Studies in 2017. Until now, he performed the role of Head of the Operations Department (J-3), Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.
Major General Gordan Pavlović was born on April 7, 1970 in Požarevac. His professional military career started in 1992. He graduated from the Air Force Military Academy in 1992, completed the Command and Staff Course in 2006 and the General Staff Course in 2011. Until now, he performed the role of Chief of Staff of the Air Force and Air Defence Command.
Brigadier General Slađan Hristov was born on March 20, 1970 in Surdulica. His professional military career started in 1992. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1992, obtained a Master of Science degree in 2011, and a Doctor of Science degree in 2019. He is Head of the Human Resources Department (J-1), Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.
Brigadier General Željko Furundžić was born on December 16, 1974 in Bijelo Polje. His professional military career started in 1997. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1997, completed the Command and Staff Course in 2010, and the General Staff Course in 2019. He is Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard.
Brigadier General Nebojša Cvetković was born on January 30, 1970 in Uroševac. His professional military career started in 1992. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1992, completed the Command and Staff Course in 2005 and the General Staff Course in 2019. He is Deputy Commander of the Training Command.
Brigadier General Žarko Nešić was born on December 1, 1968 in Priština. His professional military career started in 1991. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1991, completed his specialist academic studies in 2006, and the General Staff Course in 2013. He is Deputy Director of the Military Security Agency.
Colonel Grujica Vuković was born on January 2, 1975 in Leskovac. His professional military career started in 1997. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1997, completed the Command and Staff Course in 2014, and the General Staff Course in 2020. Until now, he was Chief of Staff of the Third Army Brigade Command.
