Military Security Agency Day Message by Minister of Defence
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić has sent a message on the occasion of November 12 – Military Security Agency Day, which reads as follows:
“On the occasion of November 12, the Military Security Agency Day, I would like to extend my congratulations to all members of the Agency.
You have followed the tradition of your service for 185 years, since the adoption of the first military legal document – the Military Law, which elaborates at length on various security threats facing the army, prescribes punishments for treason, escape, rebellion and other forms of individual or collective action, and defines security and counter-intelligence measures aimed at protecting the army of the Principality of Serbia.
During the past year, you have performed counter-intelligence and security tasks extremely successfully while simultaneously working to prevent corruption and organized crime. The professionalism, dedication and sacrifice of the Military Security Agency personnel have contributed to the improvement of the security system of the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces and the country as a whole.
By employing modern methods, you have achieved high standards and built up the reputation of your service and the Military Security Agency. Your personnel’s competence enhances the quality of work, which is reflected in the results you have achieved over the past period. I am certain that by performing security tasks effectively, you will continue strengthening the security of the defence system and promoting your agency in the coming period.
I wish you a happy holiday and I hope that in these complex times, you will continue fighting energetically for both the interests of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, and the Republic of Serbia as a whole."
