Minister Gašić attends event marking Kruševac Liberation Day



Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić attended tonight at the Kruševac Theatre the event commemorating the liberation of Kruševac in the First and Second World Wars.
The event was attended by the Head of Office of the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, Head of the Defence Technologies Department, Brigadier General Slavko Rakić, the mayor of Kruševac, Ivan Manojlović, representatives of the Union of War Veterans of the National Liberation Wars of Serbia (SUBNOR) and numerous guests.
 
In his address, the mayor of Kruševac said that it was worth dying to defend the country and thanked the ancestors who had fought for the homeland.
  - Today we forgive, but we remember. Today, we remind the world that defending one's home is not war, but a fight for freedom. That is why Kruševac exists today. A city that embraces the souls of the dead and the living alike, a city of memories, of modern present and of the future. We are proud that today we have the opportunity to engage in a new fight, a fight for investments and new jobs in a responsible and selfless fashion - said Manojlović.
 
He presented certificates of appreciation to Raško Jočić and Vojsilav Stanković, participants in the People’s Liberation War.
  The event included the performance of the Art Ensemble "Stanislav Binički" of the Public Relations Department, Ministry of Defence, and the audience saw a film about Kruševac from its foundation to the present day.
