Members of Military Academy successful in international futsal tournament



Over the past seven days, members of the Military Academy have participated in the international police futsal tournament, organized by the International Police Association of Serbia. Faced with fierce competition, the Military Academy cadet team showed great talent and a strong collective spirit and achieved great success by winning a silver medal.
  Along with the Serbian teams, police teams from France, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Türkiye, Estonia, Barbados, Algeria, Togo, Cyprus, Malta, Belgium, Jordan and Canada also competed in the tournament held in the Ministry of the Interior Training Centre “Makiš”.

At the futsal tournament’s opening ceremony, the participating countries presented their teams in a parade. In addition to the cadet team, the Military Academy presented its officer team. The opening ceremony included the performance of the Police Orchestra and an accompanying cultural and artistic programme.

The participation of the Military Academy members at this event has strengthened the long-term cooperation relationship between the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of the Interior. For 15 years, the International Police Association of Serbia has been collaborating with the Ministry of Defence on numerous activities, and sports events such as this one are very important for to the promotion of both ministries, as well as military and police schools.
  At the end of the tournament, the winners were presented with cups. The President of the International Police Association of Serbia, academician Nebojša Pantelić, Ph.D., presented certificates of appreciation to the Military Academy members for their participation and support in the organisation of this sports event. The closing ceremony was marked by a charitable gesture, when academician Nebojša Pantelić gave a donation to the Childhood Cancer Parents Association.
