Military holidays celebrated

Ceremonies marking the Air Defence Artillery-Missile Units Day and the Technical Overhaul Institute Čačak Day were held in the Serbian Armed Forces today.
The Air Defence Artillery-Missile Units Day, which commemorates September 30, 1915, the day when Private Radoje Raka Ljutovac shot down an enemy plane with a modified field gun, was celebrated at the Banjica Barracks in Belgrade. As part of the celebrations, a parade was conducted by the brigade units, wreaths were laid at the memorial located in the barracks, and awards and recognitions were given to the most deserving individuals.

The review of results achieved over the past period emphasized that members of the air defence artillery-missile units had successfully completed all their tasks and highlighted continued efforts to equip and further enhance the capability of Air Force and Air Defence.

The Technical Overhaul Institute Čačak held a military ceremony to commemorate September 30, 1925, the day when a decision was made to use a plot of municipal land to construct an engineering and technical institute in Čačak.
At the ceremony, awards were given to the best individuals and the institution’s work results were summed up, noting that, in the past year, the Institute’s combat equipment maintenance and overhaul capabilities were significantly enhanced and that it was actively involved in the modernization of weapons and military equipment, contributing to the enhancement of operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.
