Government holds session to discuss mandatory military service

At the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, attended today the Government session and the second extraordinary session of the National Emergency Management Headquarters.
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Gen. Milan Mojsilović were in attendance.
President Vučić thanked the ministers who, at today's Government session, supported the draft Conclusion on forming a working group tasked with reviewing activities and measures aimed at activating mandatory military service.
  - I said that this was a big thing for Serbia, not only for the defence of the country, but also for strengthening young people’s sense of responsibility and seriousness, which they will need in everything they do in their civilian lives. The cities and municipalities where the barracks are located will also benefit from mandatory military service, because those areas will grow economically and progress and develop even faster - wrote the President of Serbia in his Instagram post.
