Minister Gašić to Ponoš: There are soldiers in Serbian barracks, not mice
Reacting to MP Zdravko Ponoš’s insulting post on X addressed to the President of the Republic and members of the Serbian Armed Forces, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić has said that soldiers - patriots, people of iron will and great courage serve their country in the Serbian barracks, and not mice, as the former chief of the General Staff calls them.
- President Vučić could have stayed in any hotel in the Loznica area, but he has chosen to perform his duties as a statesman, during his visit there, in the premises where the leaders of our armed forces work every day. By doing so, he has shown respect to the armed forces, which he commands in peace and war, as stipulated by the Constitution. He has shown them love and humanity, the qualities Zdravko Ponoš has never had - said the Minister of Defence.
According to Gašić, President Vučić will spend most of his time in the Podrinje, Mačva and Radjevina districts talking to citizens, ready to answer all their questions and share their concerns.
- Ponoš is understandably desperate to sees the military that he worked diligently to destroy during his sorry term in office being rebuilt and strengthened. He is angry because Vučić builds and opens barracks for the Serbian Armed Forces, whereas he used to close them and declare them "unpromising". However, not even such a state of mind can justify the shameful statement that, the supreme commander is hiding among his soldiers in the barracks named after Momčilo Gavrić, the boy hero of the Great War, in his own country! - emphasized Minister Bratislav Gašić.
