Tank crews’ training
Professional tank battalion members armed with T-72MS tanks are currently conducting training on the training grounds of the Serbian Armed Forces in Niš and the surrounding area.
The purpose of this regular training is for tank crew members to maintain and improve their skill in the combat use of this asset in defensive and offensive operations.
The training focuses on the newly admitted professional soldiers and leaders, helping them reach the required level of training, including the knowledge of the tactics of engagement, effective use and basic maintenance of weapons, as well as handling modern sighting sets and other subsystems on a tank.
In this phase, tank crews are practicing tactical actions related to the preparation and execution of marches and reconnaissance and the execution of combat operations against the enemy, along with the integration of fire and tactical actions of all crew members. In subsequent training stages, tank crews will carry out familiarization fire and range practices, followed by tactical exercises and live fire drills, where they will be able to put to the test their knowledge and skills in integrating fire and maneuver on this complex combat vehicle.
Continuous execution of a wide range of training activities and practices in this and other armoured units of the Serbian Armed Forces ensures a high level of combat readiness of these units, which, thanks to their high mobility and strong firepower, represent the basic maneuvering force of the Army and the Serbian Armed Forces in the execution of operations.
