New generation of soldiers start military service
Soldiers of the September 2024 intake have been admitted to voluntary military service at the Command Training Centres in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac. Over the next six months, they will be training for the military occupational specialties assigned to them within the branches and services of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Upon their arrival at the barracks, the soldiers underwent mandatory check-ups, were issued weapons and military equipment and were assigned to units, where their respective commanders briefed them on their rights and duties, and tasks awaiting them.
They will spend the next month and a half in basic training centres, learning how to handle personal weapons, perform basic tactical actions and procedures in battle, and perform sentry duty, as well as improving their physical fitness.
The next step is going through individual specialized training for military duties within their respective branches or services, followed by the second part of military service, which they will perform in the units of the Serbian Armed Forces, undergoing collective tasks training.
Those who wish to join professional military service can apply while still performing their voluntary military service, after which they will complete a necessary procedure to meet the requirements to join the professional corps of the Serbian Armed Forces as soon as they complete their voluntary military service.
