Hierarchical Liturgy and Prayer Service for cadets’ graduation
A liturgy and a prayer service were held today in the Church of St. Sava to mark the graduation of Military Academy cadets (144th and 145th classes) and the cadets of the Military Medical Academy’s Medical Faculty (10th class).
Bishop Dositej of Lipjan, the vicar of Serbian Patrirach Porfirije and the military bishop, concelebrated the Divine Hierarchical Liturgy with Military Academy chaplain Maj. Nemanja Perović, Military Grammar School chaplain Cap. Slavko Papić, and military chaplains of the Belgrade Garrison.
After the liturgy, Bishop Dositej conveyed to the future officers Patriarch Porfirije’s blessings and congratulations on their graduation and the upcoming promotion to the first officer ranks. Bishop Dositej expressed delight at the fact that new generations considered spiritual education important.
– In just a few days, you will assume one of the most responsible duties in our country and join professional military service as officers of the Serbian Armed Forces. Make sure to perform your duties responsibly, courageously, gladly and joyfully, and may God’s blessing be upon you - said Bishop Dositej to the future officers of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Besides the future officers, Commandant of the Military Academy Col. Srđan Blagojević, Ph.D., and Commander of the Cadet Brigade Col. Milan Končar attended the event.
