Specialized soldier skills assessed
Over the past several days, infantry, artillery and engineer soldiers of the June 2024 intake have been undergoing individual specialized skills assessment at the Army Training Centre in Požarevac.
The assessment follows the second phase of the first training period, during which soldiers went through the entire tactical training content, practiced military tactics on the battlefield, learnt to handle personal and branch-specific weapons, conducted all planned firing practices and fulfilled physical fitness requirements.
Master Sergeant Miodrag Mitrović, the Army Training Centre’s infantry training instructor, says that the skills assessment is conducted after the soldiers have completed a six-week training at the Centre.
— Today, we assessed the 7.62mm M84 machine gunners, 30mm M93 automatic grenade launcher operators, and the 9K11 Maljutka anti-tank launcher operators. The soldiers demonstrated great commitment and effort during their training, as testified by the very good and excellent results they achieved at today’s assessment - said MSG Mitrović.
In parallel with infantry soldiers, artillerymen and engineers solved tactical tasks and demonstrated excellent knowledge and skills in working with combat assets and handling military equipment relevant to their specialties.
What awaits the soldiers of the June 2024 intake is transfer to SAF units, where they will spend the remaining three months of their military service doing collective training.
