Minister Gašić: Ponoš was destroying the military, and Vučić is building it
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić has stated that one would expect the former chief of the General Staff, regardless of his current political positions, to praise the construction of a new accommodation and training facility for one of our armed forces’ elite units.
– Unfortunately, Zdravko Ponoš has never cared much about the wellbeing of our armed forces. Aleksandar Vučić shows respect to the military by fighting for their bigger salaries, more modern armament, better working conditions… Ponoš was destroying the military, and Vučić is building it – said Gašić.
Slander posted on social media cannot cast a shadow over that fact, he emphasized.
- We know only too well what he did as the chief of the General Staff. Today, when as a politician he withers away unable to reach electoral census, Ponoš fantasizes about being brought to power by street protesters, to whom he apparently addresses such posts. But that will not work in Serbia – said Minister Bratislav Gašić.
