Serbian Armed Forces continue to provide assistance to municipalities affected by water shortages
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces are still on the ground today, working tirelessly, together with other competent services, to alleviate the impacts of water shortages in drought-affected municipalities.
In addition to supplying water to the residents and livestock in the drought-affected territory of Vladimiraci, Gornji Milanovac, Mionica, Sjenica and Mt. Suva Planina, the Serbian Armed Forces have deployed additional water tank trucks as of today, at the request of Gornji Milanovac and Sjenica municipalities, where a state of emergency has been declared.
The primary task of the additional water trucks is to transport water to fill up the pond in Pranjani near Gornji Milanovac and to fill up the reservoirs in the villages of the Sjenica municipality with drinking water for residents and their livestock.
In situations where, due to the lack of precipitation, the inhabitants of many villages are facing water shortages, the Serbian Armed Forces are ready to employ their troops and resources to help the communities and alleviate the impacts of drought. This shows that our military are always at the service of the citizens, not only to defend the country, but also to provide water, evacuate people from affected areas, provide medical aid, build a road, bridge, repair landslides, clear snowdrifts or put out a fire.
