SAF members train on BTR-80/80A armoured personnel carriers
The first group of SAF members have completed their training in the use and maintenance of BTR-80 and BTR-80A armoured personnel carriers at the Army Training Centre in Požarevac.
These combat vehicles that our military has received from the Hungarian Defence Forces, will be assigned to units of the Serbian Armed Forces after some necessary work has been done on them.
The training was attended by soldiers and leaders from the Army and the Training Command, as well as employees of the Military Technical Institute, P.E. Yugoimport-SDPR and Srboauto LLC.
During the training, mechanics and drivers learned about the vehicle platform and were taught to perform basic maintenance on it, while commanders and gunners received training in the use and basic maintenance of the turret weapons and devices.
In parallel with the training, necessary steps are being made to set up the maintenance system for the BTR-80/80A armoured personnel carriers.
In order to fully master the use of this combat vehicle, the next step for members of the Serbian Armed Forces is to learn to drive and fire BTR-80/80A’s weapons at night, and finally undergo tactical training.
