Military paratroopers undergo advanced parachute training

Advanced parachute training is underway for members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade who, based on their abilities and affinities, have been selected for further training at the "Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrović" military airfield in Niš.
The main goal of advanced parachute training is to teach military paratroopers to perform free fall jumps loaded with weapons and equipment, using a special parachute and the "high altitude - high opening" and "high altitude - low opening" techniques and to land on small areas surrounded by obstacles, to prepare them for the execution of combat tasks.

This level of training is one of the more challenging and complex forms of training conducted in the Serbian Armed Forces and requires a great deal of psychological and mental effort from the participants. It consists of a theoretical part and jumping from heights of up to 5500 metres.

In order for the training to be successful, the participants should acquire knowledge about special parachutes, the stability of the body during free fall, meteorology, physiological and psychological stress, and they should be prepared to work in an aircraft, properly carry weapons and equipment, and jump with a special parachute on small terrains.
This training creates a professional basis for upgrading the 63rd Parachute Brigade members’ parachuting skills, and through further work, ensures the selection of more capable paratroopers who will be main actors of combat operations with the use of special landing.
