Training for Candidates for Non-Commissioned Officers of Serbian Armed Forces
Units of the Training Command are currently carrying out the second module of the Basic Non-Commissioned Officers’ Course, during which professional soldiers, who have successfully passed the programme of the Leadership Course, are being trained for initial duties of non-commissioned officers.
In this training period, which is 12 weeks long, future non-commissioned officers are undergoing a specialist training in performing individual tasks pertinent to their branches, or services.
The training programme encompasses theoretical content on assets, arms and equipment, and the emphasis is placed on the practical segment when candidates are trained to command a squad, group and team, and to carry out training for professional soldiers and soldiers doing military service.
In the continuation of the course, the candidates will have joint camping and then, they will serve an internship in Serbian Armed Forces units, where they will be practically familiarised with tasks, obligations and work organisation in a squad, so that they can be able to respond to tasks that they will face at their work places after they join the commanders’ ranks of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The basic course for non-commissioned officers lasts for six months. It is attended by selected soldiers who have deserved a chance to become non-commissioned officers owing to their work and results achieved on their soldiers’ duties in their units. Upon the completion of this training, they will be promoted to the rank of sergeant and assigned to appropriate duties for non-commissioned officers of the Serbian Armed Forces.
