New Issue of “Odbrana“
In the latest issue of “Odbrana” read about the most important activities in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces in the month behind us, which, when speaking about meetings at the highest level, was marked by international military cooperation.
In the middle of June, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić paid official visits to Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, which he evaluated as highly successful.
After the section “In Focus”, where we cover that topic in greater detail, we recommend to you an interesting story about the third International training navigation on special purpose ship “Kozara”. Also, in the section “System”, on the occasion of the Second Army Brigade Day, we bring you a text about that unit where they underline their pride at the level of training and results that they achieve in the performance of their tasks.
There is also a story about final year cadets of the Military Academy belonging to infantry and armoured units and artillery branches, who had their final year camping in the middle of June, when they successfully executed tactical exercises and live firing on the Military Compound “Pasuljanske Livade” and demonstrated readiness to perform initial officer duties in Serbian Armed Forces units. “System” also brings a text by which we remind of the Day of Air Surveillance and Warning Service.
We recommend to you an interview with Victor Rouchotas, Honorary consul of Serbia in Kefalonia, whose mission is to make “Kefalonia today what Corfu was for the Serbs in the First World War” as a heartwarming story about half a century from the graduation of the first generation of the Military Grammar School.
In this issue, we have for you an interesting cover from the Congress held in monastery compound of Reverend Prohor of Pčinja, on the occasion of marking “800 years of Serbian medicine”, and the segment “Arsenal” we bring you interesting facts about “Arisaka” rifle, the weapon of descendants of the ancient samurai.
The segment titled “History” is reserved for the story from the quill of Marijana Mraović PhD “The rehabilitation and reorganisation of the Kingdom of Serbia Army in Corfu - the island of salvation” and a text written by Nemanja Glišić from the history of air industry about aeroplane factory “Zmaj” in Zemun.
