National Command and Staff Exercise “Cyber Tesla 2024”
The Telecommunications and IT Directorate (J-6) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff conducted the national command and staff exercise Cyber Tesla 2024 at the IT and Signals Training Centre in Gornji Milanovac.
The topic of the exercise was defence of the telecommunications and IT system against cyber threats, and the general objective was to improve the capacity of the defence system and national centre for risk prevention in information and communication systems for defence against high-tech attacks and to strengthen cooperation with relevant entities from state and private sectors.
Apart from members of the Serbian Armed Forces, representatives of the private and public sector and the academic community who perform the tasks in the field of information security participated in this five-day exercise.
In line with the scenario of the exercise, in a closed computer network, they practiced offensive and defensive actions in cyberspace as part of the security incident response teams, comparing, at that, different practices and procedures and testing the effectiveness of cooperation.
The final activities of the exercise were attended by Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Nebojša Nikolić and Head of the Telecommunications and IT Directorate (J-6) of the General Staff Brigadier General Mile Vitezović.
By carrying out this and similar training activities, organized by the Serbian Armed Forces every year, the capacities for responding to incidents in cyberspace are enhanced, the coordination of authorities and institutions whose competence is information security is improved and experience in this area is exchanged.
