Serbian military men’s team places second at 3rd CISM World Military 3x3 Basketball Championship
The Serbian military men’s team has taken second place at the 3rd CISM World Military 3x3 Basketball Championship held in Novi Sad.
The runner-up team comprised Second Lieutenant Nemanja Mitić from the headquarters company at the Army Command, Second Lieutenant Milan Milošević from the 35th Air Defence Artillery Missile Battalion at the Third Army Brigade, Sergeant Dragoljub Šikman from the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion of the Army and Corporal Petar Antunović from the Mixed Artillery Brigade of the Army.Our team played six excellent games, but was overpowered by the French national team in the final. The German military team has finished third.
The Serbian women’s team, who also gave a good performance, consisted of Second Lieutenant Jovana Šikman from the Mixed Artillery Brigade of the Army, Second Lieutenant Miona Miljković from the Technical Test Centre, cadet at the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Adacemy Mina Belić, and student of the Secondary Vocational Military School Milica Bakula. In the women's competition, medals were won by the French, Belgian and Dutch military teams.
The teams’ coaches were Second Lieutenant Filip Pavlović and Second Lieutenant Petar Đokić.National military teams from 20 CISM member states played 53 games at this prestigious and superbly organized military sporting event, with the top three teams reaching the podium.
