Visit from Chief of General Staff of Azerbaijani Armed Forces
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, General Karim Valiyev, is paying a three-day visit to our country at the invitation of the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.
General Valiyev paid a visit to the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff today, where he discussed with General Mojsilović the current security situation in the region and the world, as well as the defence cooperation.During the conversation, the two sides confirmed their determination to substantially enhance the military-to-military cooperation in all areas of common interest, primarily through joint activities carried out by the two countries’ ground, air and special forces.
The two sides identified combat readiness building, operations planning, humanitarian demining and civil-military cooperation as areas of cooperation that could yield the most concrete results and expressed their satisfaction at the fact that members of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan would attend international courses organized by the Serbian Armed Forces.Earlier today, General Valiyev had a meeting with Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić, and tomorrow he will be presented with the capabilities and remit of one of the Serbian Armed Forces units.
High-level bilateral meetings such as this contribute to mutual understanding and confidence and act as a catalyst for strengthening defence cooperation aimed at building the capabilities of armed forces.
