Minister Gašić holds meetings with ambassadors accredited to Serbia
On the occasion of his appointment to the new role, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić held today a series of meetings with foreign ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Serbia.
Minister Gašić had separate meetings with the ambassadors of the following countries: the People's the Democratic Republic of Algeria – H.E. Fatah Mahraz, the Hellenic Republic – H.E. Maria Levanti, the State of Israel – H.E. Yahel Vilan, the Republic of India – H.E. Shubhdarshini Tripathi, the Islamic Republic of Iran – H.E. Rashid Hasan Pour Baei, the Republic of Türkiye – H.E. Hami Aksoy, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland – H.E. Edward Ferguson, as well as with the Chief of the NATO Military Liaison Office Belgrade, Brigadier General Giampiero Romano.
During the meetings with the ambassadors, Minister Gašić highlighted Serbia’s commitment to military neutrality, readiness and openness towards establishing partnerships with other countries in order to contribute to peace and regional and global stability, with a particular emphasis on our commitment to dialogue and adherence to international law, and the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in particular. Also, according to Minister Gašić, our country is looking to enhance and strengthen cooperation with all countries on the basis of mutual respect.
According to Minister Gašić, investing in the Serbian Armed Forces is a transparent process aiming to increase their operational and functional capabilities, and the Serbian Armed Forces were, are and will be a contributor to stability and peace.
