Basic NCO Course participants undergo training
Professional soldiers who have been attending the Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Candidate Course since April this year, have successfully completed their stationary camp at the training ground Peskovi near Požarevac.
This type of field training rounds off the first module of the course conducted at “Sergeant Milunka Savić Non-Commissioned Officer Training Centre, and provides the trainees with an opportunity to put to practice and test their newly-acquired military knowledge and skills in commanding a squad.
The future non-commissioned officers’ training involved several days of activities on the training ground using real-world battle scenarios, where they carried out tactical and fire missions, playing the role of a squad leader or a deputy squad leader.
What awaits the NCO candidates is a 12-week specialized training to prepare them for their future positions in accordance with the branch or service they are in, followed by the third module which involves doing a three-week internship in the Serbian Armed Forces units.
The Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course lasts for six months, and is attended by selected soldiers who have previously completed the Leadership Course and who have earned the opportunity to become non-commissioned officers of the Serbian Armed Forces owing to their engagement and results achieved while working in their units. Upon completion of this training, they will be promoted to the rank of sergeant and assigned to suitable entry-level NCO positions in the Serbian Armed Forces.
