Minister Gašić: Defence cooperation with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan very good
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić has completed his official visits to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, which he visited at the invitation of the two countries’ defence ministers.
Summarizing the outcomes and impressions about the visits, Minister Gašić said that the talks with high officials had been constructive and aimed at strengthening bilateral defence cooperation with the two friendly countries. According to him, the Republic of Serbia cultivates good relations with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, particularly at the highest state level.- The excellent relations between President Vučić and presidents of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, Tokayev and Aliyev, testify to our firm and sincere friendship with those countries. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have proven this many times by supporting our country’s territorial integrity and protecting our national interests internationally, for which Serbia is extremely grateful - said Minister Gašić.
According to him, meetings with the Kazakhstani and Azerbaijani ministers will help strengthen bilateral cooperation and cooperation in the defence industry field, which will, in turn, positively affect the overall relations and bring long-term benefits for all three countries.
- In Kazakhstan, I discussed with the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Industry and Construction the possibilities of strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, as well as potential ways to further advance cooperation between the defence industries of our two countries. The talks were constructive and I believe that we will further strengthen our traditionally good relations. During my visit to Azerbaijan, I spoke to the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Defence Industry. We discussed ways to further improve cooperation and bilateral relations through the strengthening of military to military, military-economic and military-technical cooperation, and we have agreed on a large number of activities that we will carry out together this year - said the minister.
According to him, military neutrality is Serbia's long-term strategic commitment and our cooperation with foreign partners, including Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, does not affect our views on that matter in any way.
- We will promote cooperation with all countries that are friendly towards Serbia and respect our national interests, and our country will always appreciate that - Minister Gašić concluded.
