Reconnaissance units conduct tactical training

Army reconnaissance units are doing their summer training to prepare for the provision of intelligence support to SAF troops on operations.

During this phase, which is being conducted on the training grounds and exercise areas, reconnaissance units are doing tactical training in conducting operations throughout the enemy’s depth.

The focus is on practicing tactics for organizing reconnaissance patrols, raids and ambushes, using multi-role combat and special high-mobility vehicles. The scouts are honing their skill in using unmanned aerial vehicles and multi-role observation devices, whose introduction into service has greatly improved intelligence collection and processing capabilities.

As this training cycle unfolds, the reconnaissance units will undergo field training in various surroundings, which, in addition to tactical combat drills, involves firearms training, training in overcoming water obstacles, survival training and learning how to procure food in the wild.

Reconnaissance units conduct training throughout the year in order to be ready to respond rapidly and efficiently to situations they might encounter when performing their tasks. This is the best way to maintain a high level of physical and mental preparedness and ability to successfully perform the most difficult tasks.
