Professional personnel undergo training
Members of armoured units are currently doing training in operating T-72MS tanks. The training is being conducted on the SAF training grounds in Niš and in the surrounding area.
The trainees are members of tank battalions in army brigades, whose principal combat vehicle is the M-84 tank, and the ultimate goal of SAF tank crews is to learn how to use both types of tanks in combat.The first training phase is currently underway, during which the tank crews are learning the basic differences between the M-84 main battle tank, which they have been trained to use in their duties, and T-72MS tanks.
The training focuses on gunners and commanders, who need to master using the tank’s modern sights and other subsystems and learn how to effectively use and maintain the weapons.
Since they are experienced and highly trained professional members, the period of adaptation and acquisition of new knowledge is much shorter and the results achieved during training are far better.In the next training phases, the tank crews will carry out tactical and live fire drills employing the T-72MS tank’s weapons and will get the chance to test their knowledge and skills at integrating firing and manoeuvring capabilities of this complex combat asset.
