New soldiers start their military service

Class of June 2024 has been admitted to the Training Command Centres in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac for voluntary military service.
Upon arrival at the barracks, the soldiers were subjected to mandatory examinations, were issued weapons and military equipment and assigned to units, where their commanding officers briefed them on their rights, obligations and future tasks.

Over the next month and a half, they will learn how to handle personal weapons, perform basic tactical actions and procedures in combat and do sentry duty, all the while improving their physical fitness.

The next step is individual specialized training, following which the soldiers will spend the last three months of their military service in the Serbian Armed Forces units learning to perform collective branch / service-specific tasks and being actively involved in the execution of daily activities together with professional staff.

Those interested can apply for admission to professional military service while still doing their voluntary military service. Upon application, they need to go through the standard procedure and meet the conditions for joining the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces immediately after completing their military service.
