Minister Gašić visits Dog Training Centre in Niš



Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited the Dog Training Centre located in Prince Mihailo Barracks in Niš today.
He was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lt. Gen. Želimir Glišović, and the commander of the Training Command, Maj. Gen. Zoran Nasković. The commander of the Dog Training Centre, Col. Zdenko Cvijetić, briefed the minister on the main tasks and segments of training that this unit provides for military working dogs and their handlers, addressing the needs of the defence system.

Minister Gašić visited the Centre’s memorial room and living quarters, following which he attended a demonstration showing the pre-training of young dogs, working with guard dogs, and the use of search dogs and explosive detection dogs.
The minister of defence expressed his satisfaction with the work the Centre does, and commended the unit members for the successes they have achieved, emphasizing the long tradition and great reputation they enjoy as dog trainers and breeders not only in our country, but in the entire region.
