President Vučić meets with U.A.E. Minister of State for Defence Affairs
The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, met today with the Minister of State for Defense Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammad bin Mubarak Fadhel Al-Mazrouei, in the General Secretariat of the President of the Republic.
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić attended the meeting.According to President Vučić, today’s meeting discussed complex aspects of the current geopolitical situation, global security issues, and the strengthening of military-technical cooperation between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates.
- I have given the minister a detailed account of the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the developments in the Western Balkans, and I have emphasized Serbia's determination to continue working with friends and partners to address common challenges and threats to regional and international peace and security. I have stressed the need for continuous cooperation and coordination in areas such as counter-terrorism, cyber security and regional stability, especially with the global situation growing increasingly complicated - said the President of the Republic.
One of the topics of the conversation, he added, was the concretization of the plans discussed last year at the International Defence Exhibition IDEX 2023, as well as numerous types of weapons produced by the Serbian military industry, which the Emirates have expressed an interest in.- I also took the opportunity to emphasize once again the special importance that Serbia attaches to partnership and friendly ties with the UAE, and to thank Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who personally contributed to our sturdy bilateral and economic relations. I asked Minister Al-Mazrouei to convey my warm greetings to the Sheikh as well as our standing invitation for him to visit Serbia again," President Vučić wrote on his Instagram account.
