New Issue of “ODBRANA”
The May issue of the magazine “Odbrana” brings several interesting texts. Read about the course of the Joint Live Tactical Exercise “Vihor 2024”, which, in terms of the number and variety of engaged combat assets, was one of the greatest and most comprehensive that the Serbian Armed Forces have carried out so far.
With an appropriate text, we have marked 14th anniversary of the Simulation Training Centre, which, using simulation methods and computer technologies, has been successfully carrying out tactical, joint and multinational exercises.
We have visited the Military Academy and learned which research projects are carried out in the Department for Technical and Technological, and Natural and Mathematic Sciences. In addition, read a text about epidemiologists from the Military Medical Academy and find out what it is that they do and what challenges they face in their profession.
In the section titled Global, we bring you a text about the research results of International institute SIPRI regarding the trends in the international arms trade. There are several texts in the section titled Arsenal. Find out who legendary sniper shooters of the world were, and who founded the Serbian Artillery School, and which the first Belgrade aeroplane factory was.
The section Culture presents a book “Milutin Milanković and Defence of the Fatherland” by the author Slobodan Stojanović. That is an interesting story about the “traveller through space and centuries”.
On the pages of “Odbrana”, in History section, you can learn about how the Republic of Serbia has bought a valuable historical document - the Directive number 25, by which Hitler ordered the attack on the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and Kingdom of Greece on 28th March 1941.
On the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day, we present two historical lectures of military historians from the Strategic Research Institute - about the suffering of Serbian prisoners of war in the First World War, about which Colonel Dalibor Denda PhD spoke, and about religious traditions, importance of regulating religious issues and cherishing traditional values and customs of religious communities in the military, by Colonel Miljam Milkić PhD.
At the end, find out who the safest drivers are in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces in 2023.
