Master Sergeant Mijodrag Tošković buried
Master Sergeant Mijodrag Tošković, member of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade who died in a tragic accident while performing a regular training activity involving jumping from a helicopter into the Danube-Tisza-Danube Canal, was buried with full military honours in Stara Pazova today.
Besides family members, fellow service members and friends, the funeral was attended by Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Gen. Milan Mojsilović, Commander of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade Brig. Gen. Miroslav Talijan, Commander of the Special Operations Battalion “Griffons” Lt. Col. Nenad Dimitrijević, and co-workers from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
The funeral mass was celebrated by the military bishop, Bishop Dositej of Lipljan, and Bishop Metodije of Budimlje-Nikšić.
The flag of the Republic of Serbia was given to his wife Snježana as a keepsake and a token of his homeland’s gratitude for his meritorious service.
Earlier today, a memorial service was held in the Rastko Nemanjić Barracks in Pančevo, where fellow members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade paid their respects to Master Sergeant Tošković.
Addressing the gathering, General Talijan said that Master Sergeant Tošković had honourably performed all assigned tasks, and that his commitment had earned him great respect from his superior officers and fellow service members. According to General Talijan, Master Sergeant Tošković was his non-commissioned officers’ and soldiers’ favourite commander and leader, and his attitude to them was fraternal, which is why he holds a place in the hearts of all brigade members.
Master Sergeant Mijodrag Tošković was born in 1980 in Cetinje. His professional career in the Serbian Armed Forces started in 2000. He received multiple decorations and awards for outstanding professional achievements. He was a married father of three children.
