Minister Vučević meets with Chief of Joint Staff of BiH Armed Forces
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met today with the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Gojko Knežević.
On that occasion, Minister Vučević said that commitment on both sides was necessary in order to further strengthen bilateral relations. At the meeting, modalities for successful future cooperation in the field of defence were discussed, as well as the political and security situation in the Western Balkans.
The minister of defence emphasized that long-term stability in the region could only be achieved through dialogue and cooperation. He said that Serbia was the guarantor of the Dayton Agreement and that it was firmly committed to respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Speaking about the defence cooperation between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Minister Vučević stressed that it was in harmony with good political and economic relations between the two countries and added that the military-economic cooperation had great potential.
General Knežević agreed that both sides were committed to strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and added that strengthening bilateral military cooperation with the countries in the region was a priority for the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He was especially grateful for the opportunity provided to members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive education and training at the Defence Universitand to attend courses held at the Serbian Armed Forces training centres.
