New soldiers admitted to SAF units for military service
A group of new soldiers was admitted to the Serbian Armed Forces units for voluntary military service today.
Upon arrival at the barracks, they were subjected to mandatory examinations, issued weapons and equipment and assigned to units, where their commanding officers briefed them on their rights, obligations and tasks.
Over the next month and a half, soldiers will undergo training at the basic training centres in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac, learning how to handle personal weapons, carry out basic tactical actions and procedures in combat, and perform guard duty. They will also improve their physical fitness, after which they will move on to specialized training.
The soldiers will spend the last three months of their military service in SAF units doing collective training and taking an active part in the execution of tasks together with professional servicemen.
Soldiers can apply for admission to professional service while still performing their voluntary military service, after which they will go through the standard procedure satisfying the requirements for joining the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces immediately after completing their military service.
