New 15 Ambulances for Military Health Care System
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Miloš Vučević visited 15 newly provided ambulances in the compound of the Military Medical Academy.
The vehicles were procured for the needs of medical health care system in the Ministry of Defence. They possess all necessary modern medical equipment, and they will be used in military medical institutions with a view of providing better health care to the military insured.
Following the tour, Minister Vučević pointed out that they had an opportunity to see 15 new ambulances classified in four different types, some of them being the vehicles for the transport of disabled persons, transport of dialysis patients, and utility ambulances and ambulances for the needs of providing medical care to patients at risk. He added that those vehicles were paid 120 million dinars.
- After many years, we have purchased a larger number of ambulances from one producer in order to reduce the costs of maintaining and equipping. Experts said which ambulances were the best and which required, and the Military Health Department distributed them to health institutions in Belgrade, and military hospitals in Novi Sad and Niš thus ensuring the regional coverage of the entire state - the minister of defence explained.
According to him, apart from the new 15 vehicles, Serbian Defence Industry Group has donated additional two ambulances, which will be assigned, at the request of the Serbian Armed Forces, to the Second Army Brigade to enable the transport of patients from that part of Serbia to military health centres, chiefly in garrison outpatient clinic in Kraljevo, and Raška and Novi Pazar and other places too.
- The new vehicles will not only facilitate the work of all personnel in the military heath care system, but they will primarily ensure better treatment of patients and the insured that they expect, and it is my belief that we will continue following this trend in the future - said Minister Vučević.
On that occasion, he spoke about a major project of renovation, and energy efficiency reconstruction of the Military Medical Academy which is to be carried out together with the Ministry of Mining and Energy, and he added that the building of the Military Medical Academy is the pride of the Ministry of Defence and entire state which still is one of the most renowned health institutions in Serbia.
Minister Vučević also spoke about the explosion that had taken place this morning in Kruševac in the plant of Trayal corporation, where one person lost life and four employees were wounded, one of them being severely injured and three sustained light injuries. On that occasion, he extended condolences to the family of the deceased worker, expressing his regret at the fact that it was a young person. Minister Vučević wished swift recovery to the injured.
The tour was also attended by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Mile Jelić, Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović PhD, Assistant Minister for Budget and Finance Katarina Pavičić, Head of Military Health Department Brigadier General Radivoje Anđelković PhD, heads of private offices of the deputy prime minister and minister of defence Žarko Mićin and Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, and Head of Logistics Directorate in the General Staff Major General Srđan Petković.
